Ice -olation

The other evening, I hurt someone to hurt myself.

Now, I'm sitting on an iceberg, wrapped in razor wire, in the middle of a half frozen sea.
If I move, the wire sinks deeper in and anyone who comes close will be shredded.

Writing this, I'm wondering whether I am perhaps, waiting until my flesh is so frozen that I can no longer feel.

I can't believe I hurt someone else so much.

  1. Oh my - I feel your guilt and your pain. I don't know what you did or to whom but I know that guilt is only useful in so much as it can be a marker for change and/or to apologize. Whatever you did forgive yourself and ask to be forgiven and make changes so to never do so again. Please free yourself from the guilt and pain of iced wire - please. How can I help?

    Love you

  5. Guilt and shame are the hardest things to live with. There is an answer. If you truly feel you made a mistake, take ownership of that and say you're sorry. It doesn't mean you have to throw yourself at someone's feet or cry or beg... just a heartfelt "I'm sorry. I was wrong. I don't want to hurt you. I will try not to do it again."

Then, when that's done, you move on. You can't do anything about their reaction or response or how they accept it. You can only clean your side of the street and the rest is up to them.

Torturing yourself only causes more pain in the world. It does not make the other person feel better.

    thinking of you...

  6. I feel for you WS. I hear that agonizing pain, the guilt, the shame.....I've been learning that being human we will hurt others and others will hurt us. Doesn't mean we're bad or wrong or deserve to be punished. Please be ok. Sarah

I'm sorry. I'm all out of words on this one.
Thanks so much for your words, all of you...
I'm not in a great place and to an extent, I am choosing it so... y'know. My problem. My poor choices.
    Sorry not to have replied.
